The 'darling' of field and forest...

Is there any youngster in the animal kingdom that warms the heart ...more than a fawn? As I stopped to 'take in' this beautiful scene my heart was joyful...

Doe & fawn posing in a stream...surrounded by summer green!
It seems that a fawn embodies all the virtues of youth in one perfect package... Fragile yet strong and muscular...Handsome yet precious and cute...Bright...Curious...Innocent
I count it a blessing that this pair fearlessly watched me and lingered for a few pictures...
A beautiful, unexpected moment in nature...
I was thankful...

Very very sweet Barb! I got my issue of Birds and Blooms yesterday. I loved you article. I'm going to have to search for nests! That is such a great magazine and I'm really wanting to make that bat house! Have a great day!

Eve, thanks so much! If you happen to make that bat house - please do a post! We live right between a famous bat cave and bat church (really!) so I have enough bats to eat all those lousy mosquitoes - and then some!

Wonderful photos, Barb! I have seen so many fawns this summer...and each one always brings a big smile to my face! You are so right..they just make your whole day brighter..esp when Mom is close by and you capture them both!! Sweet, just sweet pixs!!
Interesting info about your father-in-law...gutsy guys and girls back then and now..always in awe of our elders and our young that take/took such chances to give us freedom. My Dad was a test pilot for the F4U Corsair as well as an instructor, during the war...Thanks for stopping by.
Hope you are enjoying this glorious weekend weather!!

These photos have melted my heart, so precious. You are so lucky to have witnessed this, and to be able to take beautiful shots of it! The last picture is to die for, so so so precious. I probably would've started crying, haha! I tend to do that when I see deer in the wild, they're just so beautiful and innocent... and I'm a total sap, lol!
Thanks for sharing :)

Awesome! What a great moment to be there, too! I think that you actually found Bambi, BG. Flower and Thumper are surely hiding nearby. :-)

A blessing indeed!! My daughter took her camera out one day at Lake Guntersville State Park and literally ran into a herd of deer. Several fawns and young bucks were nestled in among the does. She was so excited, taking photos as they allowed her to walk with them. Special moments in nature - you both were so fortunate. Love your photos and blog.
